Observatory Circle is a small neighborhood located in Northwest D.C. The boundaries of this neighborhood are Wisconsin Avenue to the west, Massachusetts Avenue to the north and east, and Calvert Street to the South.
Observatory Circle is best known for the 72-acre U.S. Naval Observatory, which is also home to the United States' Vice President at One Observatory Circle. Countless embassies line the streets of Massachusetts Avenue, which caused the nickname Embassy Row. Some of the embassies include those of Finland, Norway, Iraq., UK, Brazil, Italy, Norway, Belgium and many others. Another land mark is the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, which hosts a famous Greek festival twice per year. The neighborhood is also steps away from the National Cathedral, whose impressive structure can be enjoyed from many homes and from the grounds of Saint Albans School.
